Colville Indian Reservation

After the dam I drove through the Colville Indian Reservation, it is desolate and beautiful and very big, almost two hours to drive all across it.

The Grand Coulee Dam! – (it’s famous!)

The Grand Coulee Dam is the largest power generation site in North America, 7th largest in the world (it also has washrooms)

The Kurtis Sheep Slaughter

I have heard that, at this location, in 1903, tensions between cattlemen and sheep ranchers came to a head, men snuck into the Kurtis Sheep Ranch at night and killed over 900 sheep with clubs, burning the carcasses to ensure they were worthless.

Winthrop – Stopping for the night

Came across the strangest little old west town along HWY-20, like AGGRESSIVELY old west (but still really neat) seems like a perfect place to stop and the sun is going down anyway. I brought the tent but no idea where to go or what to do so I give in and fine a cheap motel room.

Washington Pass

This is the Washington Pass along Highway 20, there’s a really nice lookout spot with a little walking loop, possibly the most beautiful mountain view I have ever seen.
